Blue Jays @ Red Sox Preview

Another day another lefty the Sox have to face. Honestly, it seems like every game they are facing a lefty, and the Sox have been struggling against them. Tonight they will go against Brett Cecil, as the Sox counter with Brad Penny.

Cecil has been unreal so far this season going 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA. He has made 3 starts letting up only 4 runs. The Sox are going to need to put some pressure on this guy, and that starts with Ellsbury. He has been the Sox hottest hitter of late (.345 over the past week). If he can get on consistently he should find it easier to score with Youk back in the lineup.

Penny has been pitching better of late going at least 6 innings in each of his last 3 starts, and letting up no more then 4 runs. Hopefully he can build on that tonight. Penny did fare well against the Blue Jays while pitching in interleague games, going 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA in four lifetime starts for Florida and the Los Angeles Dodgers, but has not faced Toronto since 2007.

Game is at 7:10 on NESN.
