The Sox needed a good outing from a starting pitcher, and they got it last night from Lester. 7 innings 3 ER 10 Ks is damn good if you put into consideration that the new Yankee stadium is a glorified wiffleball field. The Yankees on the other hand got another poor outing from their rotation as Hughes only lasted 4 innings. You can blame it on the rain delay, but it is looking more and more like Hughes can not hold up on the "big" stage. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a good pitcher, but I don't think he is going to be good in NY.
The critics can lay off Ortiz for at least a night as he went 2-3 with 2 doubles an RBi and 2 walks. No he didn't hit a HR, which got really annoying during the game when they mentioned that like 350 times. Lowell and Bay continued their RBI tear, as each had two.
Boston is now 4-0 against the Yankees this year. You can hear their fans already flipping out. Tex isn't hitting (eight games without an RBI), CC is not doing much, same with AJ, and now it looks like Posada is once again hurt (pulled hamstring)....
