The improved to 6-0 against the Yankees this year, and if you're a Yankees fan you have to be worried that is quickly going to turn to 7-0 with Wang on the mound tonight. Wang as been an absolute bust this season. Before this year started I actually thought that Wang would be the Yankees best pitcher....boy was I wrong. Wang is 0-3 with a 14.46 ERA (OUCH!!!).
If that isn't good enough news for the Sox there are signs that Ortiz may be coming out of his seemingly endless slump. This season against the Yankees Ortiz 7 for 23 (.304) with a home run, seven RBIs and four runs scored. That is wild considering he is only hitting .198 on the season.
The Sox are putting Wakefield on the mound, and he could really use a good outing. Even though Wakefield is 2-1 in his last 3 starts he has also let up a total of 14 runs in those starts. The Yankees have a very dangerous lineup, and this game could get out of control quick for both teams. On paper it looks like this game could be very high scoring, and I think it will be...enjoy.
