Now that Dean Pees is gone the Patriots have a lot of work to do on their coaching staff. Many people thought Al Groh would take over the posistion of defensive coordinator, but he has signed with Georgia Tech. Now that he has gone there is really two likely options in my eyes.
1. Matt Patricia is the most likely option. Belichick has been grooming him for a while now, and he could just be the next in line, which is how the Patriots normally operate.
2. Pepper Johnson is my dark horse. The Giants let him walk now that they have brought in Perry Fewell as their defensive coordinator. Pepper knows the system well, and is looking for work. The Patriots could also bring him back as the linebacker coach, as that was the position he held before (if the Pats decide that Matt Patricia is their guy).
