The Sox moved Marco Scutaro from shortstop to second base to protect the infielder's ailing right shoulder. Does this bother anyone else??? Listen if the Sox were fighting for a playoff spot, then I'd be all for it, but they are out so why are the risking ruining this guy for next year?
It is obvious that Scutaro will be the SS for the Red Sox next year. There isn't much out there in the free agent market, they already committed to him, and any Red Sox minors are at least 2-3 years away. Scutaro has been an iron man for this team, but it is time to get him ready for next year. So Francona really needs to bite the bullet shut him down and let guys like Lowrie play the rest of the year.
Just seems stupid to me to keep him out there.
