Carlos Gonzalez Gets A Deal
Carlos Gonzalez and the Rockies reached agreement on Monday evening on an $80 million, seven-year contract as Colorado continued outlaying big sums of money this offseason to sign some of its core players.ESPN
Not bad for a guy who finished 3rd in the MVP voting. Last year he batted .336 with 34 home runs and 117 rbis and he's only 25. In my eyes, this is an absolute steal for the Rockies. If he were to hit free agency this year he would be getting more than Carl Crawford money, so to lock him up until he's 32 at a little over 10 mil a year is great for the Rockies and even a bigger plus figuring he is a Scott Boras client.
