So I turn of Dennis and Callahan this morning (I don't know why I listen to them, but whatever) and they are going on one of their long and drawn out spiels on gay people and keep mentioning the name Buck. So the first thing I think of is this is great, Joe Buck came out of the closet, then I got a little less immature and found out it's Boston sports columnist Steve Buckley (a long time Boston sports columnist) and then read his article and you have to give it to the guy for just coming out and saying it.
I bet he feels like a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders now, and a giant burden is gone, however the real challenge starts now for him.
The question now is whether this is going to make his job harder? We have heard Tim Hardaway's anti gay rants, and John Amaechi said lots of sports players are all homophobic. It sucks, but that I guess the way it is. I think being in Boston helps will help him a lot to figuring we are one of the most open states. I guess we will see.
