#11 Florida over #3 LSU

Last night the #11 Florida Gators not just beat the #4 LSU Tigers, they swamped them 51-21. Now don't let those 21 LSU points fool you, Florida's defense shut down the LSU run game and Sophomore LSU QB Jarrett Lee could not handle the speed of the game. Those 21 points were almost gimmi points. On the flip-side, the Florida offense looks rejuvenated. Whether your a Florida fan or a Florida hater, you have to agree or at least consider that this is the fastest most explosive offense in college football. Without the stunning loss to Ole' Miss, Florida would without a doubt be top 3 in the AP ranks come monday. The pride of #4 LSU is always their stellar defense; that stellar defense allowed Florida to rush 41 times for 265 yards including 129 yards on 10 rushes to true Freshman RB Jeff Demps; Tebow completed 14 of 21 for 210 yards and 2 TD's; Percy Harvin had 6 receptions for 112 yards and 2 TD's.

With this big SEC win, not only does Tim Tebow throw his name back in the Hiesman mystery this season but the Gators are back in the top 10 and can have their sites on making a run to the national championship. The defeats of #1 Oklahoma and #3 Missouri give teams such as #8 USC, #10 Georgia and #11 Florida life. Florida's toughest opponent the remainder of the season is Georgia followed by Vanderbuilt (Florida could meet Alabama in the SEC Championship). With Tim Tebow's promise, last night's domination of one of the top teams in the top NCAA conference, and a schedule that they could win out...do not count Florida out of the mix because of a blocked extra point, this Gators team is among the few NCAA elite.

On a side note: Bob owes me a six pack of Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale on this game, insult to injury but a bets' a bet
