The Braves have acquired Javier Vazquez from the White Sox for Boone Logan, Jo-Jo Reyes, Brett Lillibridge and another top prospect. Vazquez was 12-16 last season for Chicago with a 4.67 ERA. Those are not great numbers, but I can guarantee you he will have a much better year next year. Anytime a pitcher goes to the NL, it seems like they have a great year. I think this will be much of the some, plus Atlanta is known for having some quality starter.
As for the White Sox, I don't really like this trade. None of these players really seem like they are going to be "team changers", but at least Jo-Jo is a great name. I don't know a lot about these minor leaguers, so who knows. One thing is for sure, the White SOx have a lot of work to do, even though they made the playoffs last year.
Prediction: Vazquez win at least 17 games next year, with an ERA below 4.00.
