The New York Mets are reportedly closing in on a three-year deal for free-agent reliever Francisco Rodriguez.
Sports Illustrated and Newsday reported that the deal is worth about $37 million. "It's going to get done,'' a person familiar with the talks said, according to SI.com.
Well the Mets needed an impact player in the bullpen and they got K-Rod. Sure K-Rod has been unbelievable for the Angels but I have a feeling he is going to be horribly injured in the next couple of years. His Fastball has already lost some steam and normally that is the first indicator of bad things to come. Sure the Mets needed a closer with Wagner being hurt, but you could have got Bobby Jenks, Brian Fuentes, or Chad Cordero for half the price.
