"New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, speeding and driving without insurance after being pulled over by police last weekend (ESPN)."
The NFL is like watching an episode of cops. What the hell is wrong with all these guys? Every week it seems like someone is getting arrested. This time it's Shaun Ellis who thought it would be a good idea to be carrying pot (a banned substance in the NFL) in his car, while speeding, without insurance...nice. There are a couple things I just don't understand here:
1. You are an NFL player, can't you get someone else to hold your weed?
2. You make millions of dollars and you don't have insurance?
3. Why is he smoking weed during the season?
4. If you don't have insurance, and you have weed in the car, why are you speeding?
Anyways, this could really hurt the Jets. The Jets defense has been up and down all season, and losing a player like Ellis can only hurt them. I just wonder how long he will be suspended, since the NFL is all over the place with these types of things. I would drug test him, if he fails there is 3-4 games, plus the conduct policy which should tack on 1 or 2 more games. Most likely he will just get a game or 2 and a fine.
