"Kevin Garnett will miss the Celtics' final two regular-season games, at Philadelphia Tuesday and versus Washington in Boston Wednesday. Garnett is scheduled to return when the Celtics open the playoffs, Game 1 tentatively scheduled for Saturday. "We just being careful right now," coach Doc Rivers said. "I don't see the benefit of playing Kevin right now, with the practice we're going to have." Rivers called off practice Monday, but Garnett, Leon Powe, and Brian Scalabrine worked out and will participate in tomorrow's shootaround at the Wachovia Center (Boston.com)."
Things are just not looking good for the Celtics. They just got blown out by the team (Cavilers) that are going to have to go through if they want to repeat, and Now KG can't even get one game in before the playoffs. I see what Doc is saying, but if KG can play at all he should really get a game in before the playoffs start. No matter how hard a practice is, it is not the same as a game. My thinking is that KG is really fucked up, and at this point they are going to just hope that he can somehow play in the playoffs (much like the Sox last year with Lowell). Hopefully KG will be able to tough it out, but this really gives me a bad feeling...
