Bergeron, Thomas Take A Couple Days Off

"All Bruins were present for practice yesterday at Ristuccia Arena, with the exception of center Patrice Bergeron and goalie Tim Thomas [stats]. Bergeron stayed off the ice to let his bruised and still-sore right foot get better, while Thomas continues to get over a cold or touch of the flu (Boston Herald)."

Bergeron has been playing with a hurt foot since the playoffs started. He took a slap shot off his foot right before the playoffs began. We don't know if it is broken, but it didn't seem to be limiting him in any way during the first round bitch slap of the Canadiens. Thomas as the flu, and as long as it is not swine flu he'll be fine. Both are expected back on the ice tomorrow.

Andrew Ference made it through the entire practice without limitations. Ference is expected to be ready for the start of the second round.

The Bruins still don't know who they will be playing next round...

-If the Rangers beat the Capitals, the Bruins will face the Rangers.

-If the Rangers lose to the Capitals and the Hurricanes beat the Devils, the Bruins will face the Hurricanes.

-If both the Rangers and Hurricanes lose, the Bruins will face the Penguins.
