Red Sox @ Indians
So far this season the best pitcher has been Lester...wait nope, Beckett...guess again...Holy shit it's the Wake!
Wakefield has been nothing short of incredible. He has 2 complete games (one was a rain shortened 7 inning game), his ERA is 2.45, and he is 2-1 on the season. Tonight he will go against last year's Cy Young winner Cliff Lee. Lee had a horrible start to the year, but has turned it around of late letting up only 3 runs over his past 14 innings. Still, he is really overrated, and the Sox should be able to keep their hot bats rolling against this chump.
Boston has won 10 games in a row. Their bullpen has been great, but the big difference comes when Ellsbury gets on base. If he gets a single its like he hit a double, because you know he is going to steal 2nd. If Pedroia/Ortiz then get a hit its a run. It really is that simple, and the Sox scoring machine looks a lot more fierce when he is on base. Boston is not going to crush HRs like they did back in the Manny days, but they can manufacture runs like never before. With Lugo most likely returning to the lineup tonight, expect even more running from the Red Sox.
Sox will need to keep an eye on V-Mart who is just going off lately hitting .480 over the last 7 days. The Indians can score runs in bunches, but I don't trust their fielding or hitting, so hopefully the Sox can keep the good times rolling.
Game is at 7:05 on NESN.
