Steelers Release Foote
"Rumors became reality Tuesday as the Pittsburgh Steelers released starting inside linebacker Larry Foote, a seven-year veteran. It had been rumored for much of the offseason that Foote, made extraneous by the emergence of two-year veteran and former first-round pick Lawrence Timmons, would be either traded or released (ESPN)."
Foote has a lot of good football left in him. He is only 28 years old, and he just seems to never get hurt. He played all 16 games each year for the past 5 seasons. Obviously there will be teams lining up for his services, but you would have to think the Patriots will take a look at this guy. With Bruschi aging by the day, it would be nice to have some insurance, and a guy who never misses game, is used to the 3-4 defense, and has won Super Bowls sounds like a great fit to me...
