Ricky Romero Goes On DL
"The Toronto Blue Jays placed left-handed pitcher Ricky Romero on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained muscle in his right side. Romero is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in three starts. He has struck out 13 batters and walked only four in 21 innings. The move is retroactive to April 20 (Sportsline)."
Most of you probably have no idea who this kid is, but if you watch baseball and are wondering why the Jays are in 1st place, well you can contribute some of that to this kid. He has pitched in 3 games, has gone no less then 6 innings, and let up no more then 2 runs. His last start he went 7 scoreless innings striking out 6. This injury doesn't sound too serious, but Toronto's pitching is not very deep, so any injury like this will hurt them right away. I expect to see the Jays start to fall off over the next month or so, but keep an eye on this rookie.
