3 Red Sox, 1 Cleveland
This was a hell of a pitchers duel, but all it took was a couple of mistakes from Cleveland closer Kerry Wood to make the Indians lose a close one. Jason Bay has been too clutch lately. He first took Mariano Rivera, and now he took Kerry Wood deep. Now the Red Sox are on a ridiculous streak and Down one strike, Bay pulled a 99-mph heater from Wood (0-1) into the left-field seats as Boston extended its longest winning streak since a 12-gamer in 2006. Also, like Bob said yesterday Tim Wakefield has been by far our best pitcher this year, and that includes a team that has Jon Lester, Josh Beckett and Dice K on it. Wake pitched 7 inning allowing no earned run and 5 Ks. It is really amazing what the grizzled vet has been doing this year.
