Well no one can be surprised about this, and this has finally killed the WBC for me. There is no way it is not that events fault. Hopefully he just needs a week or two of rest. Now we will finally see if the Sox pitching staff is really deep. You would think Buccholz would be called him, since Smoltz is not ready. The other option I guess would be to start Masterson, either way this is not good news for a team that has started a season so poorly.
