Ugh I was at this game. I am hungover, and still pissed off...
The Bruins played like shit. Cam Ward had a fantastic game, but the Bruins were not crashing the net like they usually do. Ward made 36 saves for his second shutout in his last four playoff games, which if you're a Bruins fan has to make you a little bit worried. All a hockey team needs is a hot goalie to go deep into the playoffs. Ward has done this before for Carolina when they won the Cup.
The Bruins were the last unbeaten team in the playoffs after Detroit lost to Anaheim 4-3 in triple overtime Sunday. Tim Thomas' winning streak ended at 11 games, including the past six of the regular season. So, in some regard the Bruins were due for a bad game. They were down 2-0 going into the 3rd, and really played well in the last period, but Cam Ward was standing on his head, so what can ya do. The Bruins need to be more physical, because they can push around this team. Carolina really doesn't have anyone to push back. Guys like Lucic and Rechhi need to get back to crashing the net, if they do so the Bruins should be fine.
