According to MLB.com, the Royals have placed closer Joakim Soria on the 15-day DL due to lingering soreness in his right shoulder. It was not immediately known how long Soria would be out for. Luke Hochevar was called up from Triple-A to take Soria's place on the roster.
For the most part this is a precautionary measure they are taking with their young closer. Juan Cruz will take over the roll in Soria's absence. This won't be a huge hit to anyone, except for people who own Soria on their fantasy team, because closers are easily replaceable.
