Gordon Beckham Called Up By White Sox

"Infielder Gordon Beckham, the White Sox's first-round draft pick in 2008, has been called up from Triple-A and Wilson Betemit was designated for assignment (Sportsline)."

A lot of you might not know this kid, but in the Chicago area this is a real big deal. Beckham was selected No. 8 overall last year after starring at the University of Georgia. He has played shortstop, third and second. He is supposed to be a stud and he proved it in the minors batting .326 with, 23 doubles, four homers and 25 RBI in 45 games at Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte this season. They are bringing up, because Josh Fields has been a huge disappointment, and in general the White Sox offense has not been as good as they thought it would be. Ozzie Guillen said that if Beckham was called up that it meant the White Sox season was in serious trouble. Well he is eating those words, as he chose to bring up the youngster. This kid is someone you should keep your eye on...

Oh yea I totally thought this kid was black until today...
