Wakefield looks to help the Red Sox look to complete a three-game sweep of the Tigers in Detroit for the first time in almost 13 years. The Wake will be going against Dontrelle Willis, and there is no reason why the Sox won't be lighting up the scoreboard today. Willis is a joke, and even though he was able to have a couple good starts coming off the DL, he blows, and will be out of this rotation in the next month or so.
Even though Willis is pitching for the Tigers, the Sox are going to need a better performance out of Wakefield then the has been giving them over his previous 2 starts. The Wake has let 11 runs over his last 2 starts, but the thing with Wake is that he can be really good or terrible. Hopefully today will be one of those good days.
The Sox offense has gotten it going since Francona decided to change up the lineup. Boston has won five of six in Detroit. It's outscored the Tigers 31-10 and the starting rotation has a 0.83 ERA in those victories. So it seems like the Sox have the Tigers number....
Game starts at 1:05pm on NESN.
