Red Sox @ Braves Preview
BIG GAME FOR DICE-K TONIGHT!
Yup, it's put up for shut up time for Dice-K. Smoltz is on his way back, and this is Dice-K last scheduled start. How important is this game for Dice-K? I never like to say that a regular season game is a must win, but he better pitch a lot better then he has been so far this season. Fans are starting to turn on him, and the Sox even seem to be losing faith. Though this can all go away if he pitches a gem tonight, and against the Braves he has a good shot to do so.
I really think Dice-K would be a stud if he was in the NL. That tells you that I do think Dice-K is a good pitcher, but also how awful the NL really is. Tonight Dice-K will be going against another Japanese pitcher (Kenshin Kawakami). He has also been somewhat of a disappointment this year going 3-6 with a 4.54 ERA.
Teams are hitting .374 against Dice-K this year. That tells you how bad he has been, but once again he could turn it all around tonight, and I have to say I am expecting big things from him against the Braves. I hope I am right, because the alternative would not be good for Dice-K and his career.
Game starts at 7:10 on NESN.
