There has been a lot of back and forth on whether or not Dwight Freeney will be able to play against the Saints in the Super Bowl this weekend. The Colts coach did sound optimistic that he will be able to play, saying he is heading in the right direction. Even if he does play I don't think it will matter much. His speed is going to be affected by that torn ligament in his right ankle. Freeney is one of those guys who uses mostly his speed to get to the QB, but with him being hurt even if he does play I don't see him being much of a factor.
This is huge for the Saints, since the Colts defense is based off of getting pressure on the QB. So, unless Freeney pulls some kind of Curt Schilling magic it is going to be a long day for that Colts defense.
