There have been rumors that Adrian Gonzalez could be coming to the Red Sox for some time now. The Padres GM did nothing to squash these rumors with the recent statements he has made...
“While I’d be thrilled to have him part of the organization for the long term, the early signals indicate his cost will be greater than our ability to pay,” Moorad said.
Obviously there will be other teams then the Red Sox going after him, but it seems like the Sox have the talent to be able to land the stud 1st baseman. While I don't think any deal will get done before the start of the 2010 season, I do believe that Gonzalez will get dealt before the trade deadline, especially if the Sox offense struggles in the first half of the season.
