This is a deal that needs to be made prior to the offseason. I don't want a nother Jason Bay situation to happen. Victor Martinez wants to stay in Boston is a very loyal guy (ask the Indians). With David Ortiz going away after this season, V-Mart is a perfect option to be DH along with catching some games. Martinez is a very good hitter, and with the Sox lacking hitting, it would be smart to lock him up.
I really like what the Sox did this offseason, and even though this is me being extremely biased, I honestly believe they are going to win the World Series. Their pitching is unmatched (assuming they are healthy) and their defense is awesome, and hitting isn't really that bad. Sure we couldn't compete with the Yanks line-up, but we can definitely score some runs.
