Shanahan Inks Deal With Redskins
After an afternoon of negotiations produced an agreement, Mike Shanahan signed a five-year contract to become head coach and executive vice president of football operations for the Washington Redskins. ESPN
I heard he's going to be the highest paid coach in the NFL. I like this deal for the Redskins even though I'm not the hugest Shanahan fan. Mike Shanahan gives the Redskins a proven winner, but the key to this signing has to be to let him finish out his contract. The Redskins have had a coaching carousel every single year, and they have to give Shanahan some time. On defense, they have some key pieces, but on offense Shanahan has some big decisions to make, whether or not to keep Jason Campbell and Clinton Portis. I believe both will be kept, because they are both decent players. I'm still a Jason Campbell fan and believe he was given a bad hand with the rotating coaches. Either way, I'm sure we will find out soon.
