We were all a little taken aback when the US National team roster was announced and Rajon Rondo's names wasn't on it. Well today Jerry Colangelo (who built the 2008 team) shed some light on the situation...
“There may have been a little miscommunication on that one," Colangelo said. "The last go around he was unable to accept an invitation because he was going to be involved in Kendrick Perkins’ wedding. I was advised that he would not have interest but that may have been misinformation. But he’s a young player and there will be an opportunity in the future and we have a fluid roster to begin with. I’ve made that pretty clear. So we will revisit that. The door’s not closed.”
To me it sounds like he won't be on the team for a little while, but could be in the future. There is no reason for him not to be on that team if he wants to be, so hopefully this all gets cleared up.
