MLB Previews: New York Mets

Line up
* SS Jose Reyes
* CF Angel Pagan
* 3B David Wright
* LF Jason Bay
* 1B Daniel Murphy
* RF Jeff Francoeur
* C Rod Barajas
* 2B Luis Castillo

The offense was awful last year. They couldn't get anything going, but with the addition of Bay and Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes returning (maybe) that should help out a lot. On paper this looks like a good line-up especially for the NL, but the Mets are the definition of paper champions.

Rotation:
* LHP Johan Santana
* RHP Mike Pelfrey
* RHP John Maine
* LHP Oliver Perez
* RHP Fernando Nieve
K-Rod Closer

How could they do this again? They forgot about starting pitchers. Behind Johan this team makes me want to throw up on the nearest toddler. I have no faith in Mike Pelfrey, and John Maine. Oliver Perez is far too inconsistent, and who the fuck is Fernando Nieve? This like every year will be the downfall of the Mets especially when Johan gets hurt.

Overall:

They probably will start really strong and then collapse to be around .500 like every year. Their offense has improved a lot with the power bat of Bay, but the pitching has far too many questions to look past.
