Red Sox Limit Beckett's Contract

There has been a lot of progress made on a new contract between Beckett and the Red Sox, but according to a couple sources the Sox have also set a limit. The report says that they will not offer Beckett more then 4 years on any deal, because they are worried about his shoulder.

I'll be honest, I think this is just a ploy to get Beckett to cave to their "health" demands. In other contracts (Drew, Lackey) the Sox have put in that if the player is to have shoulder issues then Boston has either a way out of the contract, or at the very least lowers the payment amounts.

I can't see Beckett getting less then what Lackey just got (5 years $82.5 million), and I still think this will get done before the season starts (6 days). The question is whether Beckett will cave and take on the shoulder conditions, or if he will just take a 4 year deal that will probably be a little more expensive (I assume that's what it would take to get it done).
