Save The Rays!!!
Buster Olney wrote a great article today about how the MLB should save the A's and Rays. The A's are rumored to be moving for San Jose, I don't know if that is a good idea or not, but I do like the idea for the Rays.
Olney thinks the Rays need to be realigned. "Selig has the power to affect change on behalf of the Rays, too, through realignment. He needs to get Tampa Bay out of the AL East, to give the Rays a consistent opportunity for success. This, in time, will give them a chance to build their brand and make their case for a new ballpark (Olney)."
So where do you move them?
The NL is what he says, and I agree. Move the Nationals to the AL East and send the Rays that way. Why do you do all this, because the Rays are a team worth saving. If they could get constant playoff chances they could get a new stadium, and no one needs one worse then the Rays. Plus I think they actually do have a fan base there if they had a chance year in and year out.
I know most of you will think this is because I just want the Sox to have more easy wins. Well, you are right, but I do actually think this would be a good for baseball. People want to see the Sox and Yanks in the playoffs every year. The Rays could be a nice new market to grow....Just an idea, but I like it a lot.
