On a day in which Boston is in celebration after the Sox, Bruins, and Celtics all won, there was sad news coming from Dave Roberts. Roberts let everyone know today that he has Hodgkin’s lymphoma, it is truly sad for a guy that provided one of the greatest moments in Red Sox history, stealing a base in Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS against the Yankees, which saved the day and made the Sox’ first World Series championship in 86 years possible.
The good news is that this is one of the most curable forms of cancer. He seems like he was in good health before this, so I am sure he can beat this.
“I expect that Dave can outrun anything,’’ Francona said.
