I'm Sorry!

WOW! I can't even believe what my eyes just witnessed. Well, I can believe it but I never would have imagined it. Let me start by saying, that the Celtics are my favorite sports team of all. I love the Sox, I like the Pats a lot, I couldn't care less about the Bruins, and obviously I am a die-hard URI Rams fan. But, Celts take the cake. The Championship in 2008 was a dream come true. Remember that commercial for the NBA "I Remember" about Garnett arriving in Boston?

I was basically the guy with the cape running around in his PJ's. Then they won a ring, and I pretty much ran around with a boner in my sweats for a whole week. I even met Pierce in Vegas the following week to cap it off. (Kind of a dick, but whatever. He was probably drunk.)
Coming into this year, I had mixed opinions of the team. Obviously, Rondo was coming into his own as one of the best PG's in the league, but KG, Pierce and Allen were all a year older and I wasn't really sold on 'Sheed coming to town. (That pretty much proved to be true. He was kind of a bust.) After the team got beat up, and gave up countless 2nd half leads, and seemed to be going through the motions to a #4 seed in the East I kind of wrote them off as the third best team in the East. I even went as far as to say they were like the Spurs of the East...contenders, but not really.
Well...I couldn't have been farther from the truth apparently. Maybe Doc and this team knew what they were doing all along. Cruised past Miami in the first round and just made Lebron and company look like dog shit in the 2nd round, the most humbling event in Lebron's young career to date. On top of that they might be the team that ends the LBJ era in Cleveland, which is pretty fucking cool.
All said and done, I am giddy about this team heading into the Eastern Conference Finals. Orlando will be a tough matchup. I think they'll need to expose Lewis on defense and whoever is guarding Ray Allen. Nelson and Howard will be tough to deal with. But I'll leave the analysis to the other guys.
So here it is...I owe DP a sincere apology for doubting this team. I thought he was disillusioned by his love for the Celtics. I am sorry I doubted. It won't happen again...this year.
UBUNTU!!!
