He very well could be, but he also might just join the team down the street. There are rumors going around today that the Yankees are already trying to get Javier Vazquez out of pinstripes, and if that is true the Mets are rumored to be one of the team that would be very interested.
This whole thing is comical to me, because how did the Yankees not see this coming? I mean, they have already been down this road. It would be like the Red Sox falling for Colon again (or Renteria) again. Anyways, I don't think it is just that he can't pitch for the Yankees, since some of the reports I have read have said that he has lost 2-3 MPH on his fastball.
Even if it is the pressure of playing for the Yankees, would it really help to send him to go to the Mets? They have a fan base that would be all over him if he started off on the wrong foot. Javier Vazquez best chance is to go to a small market team, because it is becoming obvious he just can handle the pressure.
