Wilfork Ready To Go

Vince Wilfork will play through his shoulder injury this weekend against the Raiders. The Patriots (most likely) will need to win out to make the playoffs, so players are going to have to play through injury, since this defense has been ravaged by players going on the IR.

“No question, I’m ready for Sunday,” Wilfork said prior to practice at San Jose State. “I wanted to play but I just couldn’t,” he said. “I couldn’t put myself in a situation, or my team in a situation, where I’m basically useless out there on the field, and Sunday, I basically was. I couldn’t move my arm at all. “But now, it’s a lot better. I can move my arm. That’s all I need to know (Boston Herald).”

The Patriots really need this guy on the field. He is the most important player on their defense, and even Belichick has called him "the best player he has ever coached. The Pats should be able to contain JaMarcus Russell, but the question will be the ability to stop Fargas, and McFadden. With Wilfork in the lineup, I don't see that being a problem either.
