Well this is definitely the story of the day. A 91 year old retired sheriff, and war hero beat the shit out of a guy who tried to steal from his house.
"William Hook battled back after thug Michael MacKinnon broke into his home and took him prisoner. The lout covered his head with a cloth and tried to nick his war medals. But the furious veteran gave the cowardly thief a BLACK EYE and forced him out his back door - where he got stuck in a river and arrested by cops. Recalling his ordeal, Mr Hook said he feared he'd never again see the medals he earned while fighting the Nazis during the Second World War - before he was held for five years as a POW in Germany (The Sun)."
The story only gets better, as the robber ran into trouble after going into the sitting room where he tried to cover Mr Hook's head and told him to hand over all his money. The ex-sheriff, who said he was known as "Hang 'em Hook" (awesome) in his 30 years on the bench, said "The chap walked in and stuck this thing over my face".
"He didn't scare me in the slightest, in fact I like a bit of fisticuffs.
"He gave me a black eye so I gave him one back."
Badass. That's what that is. Anyways, he chased him out the backdoor, and the guy fell in a river and was caught by police.
"But I've come through worse things in my life. I had a tough time as a POW, but I survived. And here I am today, still fighting off what the world throws at me."
