Here is a rumor I think actually might be true. Reports are coming out today that Larry Hughes has narrowed his list of penitential teams for next year and the Celtics are one of the finalists (the others are Lakers, Heat, and Bobcats).
From a Celtics point of view this makes perfect sense. Hughes would give the Celtics a scorer off the bench, and could lessen the sting of losing Tony Allen this offseason. The Celtics would obviously not be as good on defense, because Hughes is very offensive minded, but with the free agent dwindling this might be the best they are going to get.
A lot of comments about this say that Hughes is old, but he is only 31 and on this Celtics team it kind of makes him seem younger. Basically I would like this deal for his length (6-5), and his scoring ability, but I would be a little nervous about our bench defense, especially on the perimeter.
Plus look at his shirt in that picture...how couldn't he be a good fit?
