Sox/ Mariners Preview

The only good thing about this road trip is that we aren't facing Felix Hernandez. Tonight John Lackey takes on Ryan Rowland Smith who may be the worst pitcher in a starting rotation. He sports a hefty 1-6 record with a 6.18 era.

The Sox desperately need a win here with losing 10 of their last 14 games, but with Lucky Lackey on the mound they should get some good news. Lackey will get the win tonight, but he'll probably let up 4 runs in 6 innings on the way.

Adrien Beltre is is 11 for 24 (.458) with three homers and six RBIs over his last six games so look for him to get a little revenge on his ex ball club.

This has all the working of a Sox win, especially facing a team that is allergic to runs and a pitcher that loves to give them up, but crazier things have happened.

Sox 7-5
Tommy Award: Adrien Beltre.
