The B’s had a great start on their five game road trip beating the Penguins 2-1 this past Wednesday, but failed to take home the win Saturday night against the Maple Leafs (losing in sudden death). Though they still get credit for the tie, what really killed the Bruins last night was their 12 minutes worth of penalties. You can’t expect to beat a team like Toronto and give up 6 separate penalties, three of which happened in the third period. The first period was well played by the Bruins, however they had 18 shots on net and only finished with one goal. Thomas continues to play well in net, making 32 saves last night, while Savard continues to create opportunities up front with two assists. As for Tuesday’s upcoming game, the Hurricane’s are playing top of the line puck. The B’s have to finish on their shots, control the rhythm of play and keep a hard forecheck if they expect two points out of this match up. Look forward to seeing the gloves dropping this week, because it’s due or die for the Bruins.
