Minnesota Twins All-Star closer Joe Nathan has a torn ligament in his throwing elbow.
Nathan has been shut down and planning to have surgery within the next 2 weeks. Nathan may get a second opinion Dr. James Andrews, the surgeon who operated on his elbow last October to remove bone chips. And anyone who knows anything about baseball, knows the name Dr. James Andrews normally means trouble.
My first reaction to this is, THANK GOD I shipped him off in my fantasy baseball team. We have an intense keeper league, and this would have killed my team. Good luck Wilde, haha. My second is that this is awful for the Twins, he has been a staple player for them and been one of the best closers in baseball for the past 6 years. It looks like Jon Rauch will probably be the next guy in line figuring he is the only one with closing experience.
