Bruins Close To Resigning Mark Stuart (UPDATED - DONE DEAL)

A source has told WEEI.com that the Bruins and restricted free agent Mark Stuart are "very close" to reaching a one-year deal. Stuart recently chose against filing for arbitration, as he felt comfortable enough that he would be able to come to agreement with the Bruins.

I am kind of surprised they will be able to bring Stuart back. They don't have much cap room, but this signing would obviously help the defense out (especially since losing Wideman). The deal is only for 1 year, and Stuart still has room to improve since he is only 26 years old. I don't know how much the Bruins will give him, but I like that he is back with the team.

***UPDATE***

It's a done deal. Mark Stuart has signed a one-year, $1.675 million extension with the Bruins.
