Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek, who was supposed to assume everyday catching duties with Victor Martinez on the disabled list with a fractured left thumb, instead is joining Martinez on the disabled list with a fractured foot. Honestly, this is getting comical at this point. It is fucking amazing that the Red Sox are even competitive with the injuries they have gone through. I don't know what they did to piss off the baseball Gods, but this is getting fucking ridiculous!
The only good news here is that the All-Star break is close, and the Sox should get V-Mart back right after. Still, you have to wonder how much more of this the Sox can take...
