Ahhh, the Sox are back. It was weird not having sports on yesterday, but they are back. Wish things would start off a little easier, as Texas has been a good team this year. Yet, they did limp into the break losing their last 4 games. Tonight the Sox will send the Wake against Tommy Hunter.
Hunter is having a hell of a year (5-0 with a 2.34 ERA). Out of his last 7 starts he has 6 quality starts. Still, I just don't believe Tommy Hunter is this good. I think he is solid, but not a sub 3.00 era type of guy. He also has been terrible against the Red Sox (1-1 with a 11.74 ERA). Last time he played them he let up 9 runs in 1 inning.
Boston counters with Tim Wakefield. He has been far from stellar this season (3-7 with a 5.22 ERA), and has been terrible against the Rangers in his career (10-15 6.09 ERA).
On paper the Sox should get their ass kicked tonight, but I have faith that this team is getting excited that some of their stars will be returning soon. So, even though every stats tells me not to I'm picking the Sox.
