Good news coming from the Red Sox today, as Kevin Youkilis seems to be OK and said he plans to play tonight. He jammed his ankle while playing in the field in the bottom of the third inning and when he came to the plate in the fourth inning felt it "lock up" on him. X-rays were negative and Youk was moving around fine after the game. Obviously this is great news, because the Sox just can't afford to lose anymore guys to injury.
Josh Beckett is getting closer to returning with the Red Sox. He threw off a mound yesterday, and said that his back feels fine. The plan is for him to make two more rehab starts. The first would be Sunday at Pawtucket. If Beckett starts again July 16, his first game back with the Sox could be as early as July 21 in Oakland.
