El Tigre sporting a new money-maker!

Tiger Woods has announced he is shelving his trusty putter in favor of a new one as we head into the Open Championship starting tomorrow (or tonight, however you want to look at it here in the States). The much recently vilified Woods is changing his putter for the first time in 12 years! He has been using the Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter ever since he began using it at the Byron Nelson Classic in 1999. Since that time Woods has gone on an unprecedented run of championships that includes all his Major wins except his first Master's. That putter has more jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring, bad high-fiving moments in it than any putter in the world. Arguably, the most personal club in the bag, Tiger is taking a big risk by changing something he previously called "irreplaceable." Nonetheless his recent rounds have caused him to chastise his putting like never before and have led to the switch.
Perhaps this is what Tiger needs? Maybe this will be his Roy Hobbs moment, where he no longer has his "wonder boy", and maybe this Nike Method could be his "Savoy Special" and he'll hit one into the lights - so to speak.

Or maybe it is just his old Titleist putter with a facelift and some fancy Nike logos, as is rumored about his driver. Maybe he is just s self-serving, self-promoting scum bag. Either way, I'll be rooting for El Tigre (the golfer, not the man) because golf is just more interesting when he is in the hunt on Sunday.

Check out this classic clip.
