Careful What Hat You Wear
"A radio reporter in Arkansas who was sent to a press conference to interview University of Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino after a Razorbacks scrimmage wore a Florida Gators hat to the session, and it didn't go well. Not only did Petrino make a disparaging comment, the reporter, Renee Gork, tweeted that she was fired by Hog Sports Radio for her fashion faux pas. Gork also was the victim of online harassment when Arkansas fans found her Facebook page, on which she displays her affection for Florida and makes some critical comments of the school she was covering (WEEI)."
On a certain level I love this, because I hate Florida, and frankly this is fucking hilarious. Still, it's wrong. How can you fire someone for their hat? Unless that hat has a swastika on it, or a hat that says "keep the White House white" (that last one was actually on the back of a truck in Florida...no lie, way to go South).
Anyways, this is wrong and he is obviously going to sue. Sure, she is an idiot for wearing that hat, but you can't fire her for it. You can ridicule her, pelt her with beers, and maybe even slap the hat off her head, but there is no reason for someone losing their job over it. Grow up Arkansas.
