Mariners @ Red Sox Preview
I doubt they will play tonight, but if they do we will see Lackey vs. Doug Fister. Lackey is 1-2 with a 6.49 ERA in August, but he still should have a good game tonight. Seattle can't hit, they really can't and I agree with Rob that anything other then a sweep will be a disappointment.
Fister is 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA in his last two starts. He gave up three runs and 10 hits in five innings in 5 innings of a 5-4, 11-inning loss at Baltimore on Monday. He is just another guy that I'm not going to take seriously. Ortiz is batting .333 with six RBIs in his last 11 games, and Beltre has been awesome all year, so just between those two guys the Sox should be able to get enough offense to win.
Trouble is there is basically 0 chance this game will be played, but if they do the Sox will win.
Red Sox win 8-4
Player of the Game: Ortiz
Game starts at 7:10pm on NESN.
