Indians @ Red Sox Preview
The Sox have had 2 9th inning miracles, but with Cleveland coming to town it is time to send a message, and anything less then a sweep will be disappointing. Tonight The Sox have John Lackey facing Fausto Carmona.
Carmona hasn't been very good against the Sox in his career (1-3 5.16 ERA), and let's be honest he hasn't been very good in years. This year has been somewhat of a rejuvenation though as he has a 10-8 record and his ERA is just under 4. That's actually pretty impressive on such a bad team.
Lackey, 7-2 with a 4.26 ERA in 11 home starts this season. Lackey has gone at least 7 innings in each of his last 3 games, and has not let up more then 2 runs in any of those games. That is what you want from the Red Sox starters, since their bullpen is nothing short of terrible if they have to pitch more then 2 innings.
I think Boston takes care of business tonight, because well....they should.
Boston win 8-3
Player of the Game: Scutaro
Game starts at 7:10pm on NESN.
