There are two things that I never thought would happen with this whole Rangers mess.
First, I never thought I'd be rooting against Nolan Ryan. Second, I never thought anyone could outbid Mark Cuban.
I'm happy Nolan Ryan won the Rangers, but I would have loved it if Mark Cuban had a crack at a uncapped MLB team. He would be the Yankees of the AL West.
The group led by Ryan and Pittsburgh sports attorney Chuck Greenberg had Major League Baseball's endorsement, and its final $593 million offer included $385 million in cash. The final hearing on the team's bankruptcy plan was scheduled for later Thursday.
I don't understand the whole bankruptcy thing, but I do know the Rangers have done everything right this season and are by far the MLB Trade Deadline winners. By getting Cliff Lee, Jorge Cantu and Christian Guzman it makes them an over the top favorite in the AL West, and an intriguing team come play off time.
Fuck it... Rangers win the World Series this year. You heard it here first.
