Yankees and Red Sox don't meet again until the next-to-last weekend of the season. It looks like that will be too late for Boston to realistically catch New York by that point.
Jon Lester takes the hill today, and he has been far from an "ace" lately, posting a 4.39 ERA in losing four straight starts for the first time in his career. Lester has been pretty good in his career against the Yankees (4-1 with a 4.01 ERA in 10 starts against the Yankees), so hopefully he find his groove once again.
It won't be easy for Lester as he is facing Phil Hughes, who is having one hell of a year with a 13-4 record and an ERA of 3.96. On top of that Boston never seems to play as well in day games, so I can't say I am overly confident today.
Sox win 5-3
